As an ordinary Proxy in Zenless Zone Zero, I have played my fair share of summer events, but the 2025 Midsummer Fantasy event still stands out in my memory. It ran from July 17 to September 3, 2025, and sent Proxies to Failume Heights to find Alice and Yuzuha, manage a Fantasy Resort, and solve a summer mystery. Now that we are in 2026, I can still revisit the event through Ridu Chronicles, but the limited-time rewards are long gone. Did I manage to claim everything before the deadline? Fortunately, yes, but I saw plenty of players rush at the last minute.
Before jumping in, there were two entry requirements: reach Inter-Knot Lv. 15 and complete the Agent Story 'Mole in the Hole (I)'. Was that too much to ask? For an event with this much content, it felt reasonable, especially for anyone keeping up with the main story.
The event mission 'Midsummer Fantasy' acted as the narrative backbone. The three gameplay modes, Blazing Waves, Archipelago Shoot, and Ocean Angling, unlocked over time. On top of that, reaching a certain point in the story unlocked two special summer episodes: 'Windrider, Wavebreaker' and 'A Mermaid Dream.' Those episodes gave Alice and Yuzuha extra screen time, which I really appreciated.

Blazing Waves: Surfing with Alice
Alice's surfing challenges were more technical than I initially expected. Different surfboards changed the feel of each run, and I had to use turning, drifting, and power acceleration wisely. The goal was to clear each challenge in the shortest time possible and earn a better ranking. Did I restart runs just to shave off half a second? Absolutely. This mode rewarded precision and patience, making it one of my favorite summer minigames.
Archipelago Shoot: Target Practice with Yuzuha
This mode was a breath of fresh air. Playing Archipelago Shoot with Yuzuha was straightforward: take down the targets on the drones to score. There was no complex movement tech here, just quick aiming and fast reactions. It served as a nice palette cleanser between intense surfing runs.
Ocean Angling: Fishing and Aquarium Life
Ocean Angling let Proxies head to different fishing spots and catch a variety of fish. Selling the catch awarded Angler Commemorative Coins, which could unlock new fishing rods and aquarium decorations. Caught fish could also be displayed in the Aqua Mirage Aquarium. I spent far too much time trying to complete my collection, but the cozy loop was hard to resist.
Fantasy Resort Management
All of the story content and event stages fed into the Fantasy Resort's visitor traffic. Reaching specific visitor traffic goals granted level rewards, which made every activity feel connected. It was satisfying to see the resort grow while investigating the summer mystery.
| Event Mode | Main Character | Core Objective | Notable Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blazing Waves | Alice | Clear surfing challenges in the shortest time | Better ranking |
| Archipelago Shoot | Yuzuha | Shoot targets on drones | Score rewards |
| Ocean Angling | Proxies | Fish, sell catches, unlock gear and decor | Angler Commemorative Coins |
| Midsummer Fantasy | Alice & Yuzuha | Complete story and stages to boost visitor traffic | Level rewards |
Limited-Time Rewards
The reward list was surprisingly generous. By completing limited-time reward missions, Proxies could obtain the Proxy Outfit 'Summer Skies' for Belle and 'Peaceful Waves' for Wise, a Hamster Cage Pass, Polychromes, and various upgrade materials. A free outfit for each sibling? That was a strong reason to stay active during the event.
| Reward | Type |
|---|---|
| Summer Skies | Proxy Outfit for Belle |
| Peaceful Waves | Proxy Outfit for Wise |
| Hamster Cage Pass | Upgrade item |
| Polychromes | Premium currency |
| Various upgrade materials | Character and equipment upgrades |
What Changed by 2026
Once the event timer ran out, the event was documented in Ridu Chronicles. That means Proxies can still play the event content even now, which is great for latecomers. However, there is one important catch: limited-time rewards cannot be claimed after the event is over. If you were hoping to grab those summer outfits after September 3, 2025, you are out of luck. It is a reminder to always check event times and claim rewards promptly.
Did the Midsummer Fantasy event overdeliver? For a summer update, yes. It combined movement-based challenges, shooting, fishing, and resort management while giving away valuable rewards. As an ordinary Proxy, I walked away with two outfits, a fuller aquarium, and a satisfying summer mystery solved. If you missed it, Ridu Chronicles still holds the core experience, but the exclusive rewards are now a piece of history.
